Dynamic Sophrology®

A path of reconciliation with oneself…
Through a progressive exploration of the body, emotions, intuition and mind, sophrology helps us to:
-
reconnect with our vital energy and inner drive,
-
overcome inner obstacles,
-
strengthen our sense of presence,
-
awaken our intuition and our ability to give meaning to our experiences,
-
move forward more calmly towards our future.
…and transformation
Beyond relaxation—which may be a natural outcome but is never the sole objective—Dynamic Sophrology® is above all a method of training awareness. It enables us to know ourselves better, develop our potential and regain a lasting balance in everyday life.
Dynamic Sophrology® is a holistic mind–body practice that combines conscious breathing, gentle body movements, dynamic relaxation and positive visualisation. The exercises are simple and accessible, and can be practiced standing or seated. They adapt to the needs of the present moment: for adults, the focus is placed on exploration and integration. In all cases, the practice follows the code of ethics of the Dynamic Sophrology® Network.
A bit of history…
Dynamic Sophrology® originates from sophrology, founded in the 1960s by neuropsychiatrist Alfonso Caycedo.
Inspired by both Western disciplines (existential philosophy, Jungian psychoanalysis, phenomenology, neuroscience, therapeutic hypnosis) and Eastern traditions (yoga, Zen Buddhism), sophrology was later enriched by Dr Yves Davrou, Caycedo’s collaborator and translator. He developed this specific approach by integrating elements from Chinese energetics, Jung’s individuation process and neuroscience.
…and to go further
