Coaching
Moving forward through powerful questioning and practical exercises.
Coaching is a form of support that helps you clarify your goals, remove obstacles, and move forward autonomously toward what truly matters to you.
It enables you to reveal your inner resources and take action with clarity and confidence.
As I practice it, this is a well-being–oriented coaching, rather than performance coaching. It is a space of active and compassionate listening, grounded in empathic questioning. This process helps you become aware of your resources, your ways of functioning and communicating, as well as your limiting beliefs. Step by step, it highlights your talents and potential, helping you broaden your possibilities and reach your goals with autonomy and responsibility.
A word on the origins of coaching
The term coach is believed to come from Kocs (pronounced “Kotch”), a Hungarian town where, in the 16th century, vehicles called coches were manufactured. These vehicles were designed to transport passengers from one point to another.
In the 19th century, the term was adopted in the English academic world to describe tutors who “carried” their students through exams, before later being used in sports and the arts to mean “trainer.”
In the same way, coaching today is a process that supports a person, a group, or a team in moving from a starting point to a destination: an inner change, a new project, a reorganization, or overcoming an obstacle.
Philosophical roots
Some trace the origins of coaching back to Socrates and his maieutics (from Maia, the goddess of childbirth and midwives—Socrates’ mother is believed to have been a midwife as well).
Convinced that each person holds their own answers within, Socrates guided his interlocutors through subtle questioning, helping them clarify their thinking, confront contradictions, and “give birth” to their own truth.
A living, transformative process
It is in this same spirit that coaching unfolds today: through active listening, compassionate questioning, and the illumination of your resources and talents.
The goal is not to find—or impose—solutions for you, but to help you regain confidence, open your perspectives, and move forward consciously, with autonomy and responsibility.
